20 Jul BUT HE SEEMS SO NICE!
How many times have you felt ‘trapped’ talking to someone you didn’t feel comfortable talking to?
It’s no accident unsafe people always seem ‘so nice’ at first.
Consider this definition of ‘nice’ by violence expert Gavin De Becker.
“Niceness does not equal goodness. Niceness is a decision, a strategy of social interaction. It is not a character trait. People seeking to control others almost always present the image of a ‘nice’ person.”
When it comes to nice, think twice. If you’re feeling uneasy around someone then ask yourself – “why is this person ‘being so nice’ and what does this person want from me?” Give yourself permission to listen to your intuition and take action.Don’t worry about looking silly or feeling stupid – that’s exactly how an unsafe person wants you to feel.
